Four signals for ChatGPT.
- Mentions
- In how many of ChatGPT's answers to your queries your brand appears.
- Position
- Where your brand appears among the brands in the answers that mention it.
- Tone
- Whether the sentences mentioning your brand are positive, neutral or negative.
- Sources
- Which sites ChatGPT bases its answers on, and whether you're mentioned in those answers.
Official API, web search on.
We measure ChatGPT through OpenAI's Responses API with the web search tool on. Sources are taken from the citations (link and title) in the answer text.
The API answer may not match exactly what you see in the ChatGPT app: the app works with chat history, account settings and its own interface choices. Read the trend over periods, not a single answer.
- No consumer interface is scraped; measurement uses the provider's official API.
- The query is asked as is; no system message is added to steer the answer.
- Each query is asked in your brand's language; platforms that support it also get your brand's country.
- The same query isn't asked on the same engine again within 24 hours.
